The published law on the Michigan’s government website states that while operating a vehicle on public roads all windows behind the driver are unrestricted and may tinted at any darkness level without consequences however, any window beside or in front of the driver is limited to the top 4” in any darkness level which translates to having these windows completely tinted in any shade is considered a ticketable offense.
Tint Prescription/ Doctors note; The law states that a letter from by a physician or optometrist would make the owner/operator exempt from this law so long as the tint does not interfere with or obstruct the clear vision of the highway or intersecting highway.
