Gray pickup truck with large custom black wheels and tinted windows inside a garage.

Differentiating aftermarket tint from “factory tint” can be tricky. Here a few things to look for on your own or bring the vehicle in to our location for a free inspection.

Front door windows;

Every vehicle sold in North America leaves the assembly line with clear glass on the front door windows. Black coloring on these windows is an indicator of aftermarket tint.

Silver Border;

Typically found on the front and rear windshields, if the window has dark coloring in the center but a white or silver border around the outer edge, this is an indicator that the window has aftermarket tint applied to it.

Close-up of a hand holding a thin piece of black plastic or paper

Light gaps;

Found along the top edge of door windows that roll down, a slight gap is an indicator that this window has aftermarket tint applied to it.
